Digital Goa, June 5- Of the more than 32,000 households in Goa with electricity meters that are inaccessible to meter readers, only around 2,000 have complied with the department’s request to relocate them, informed Stephan Fernandes, Chief Engineer of the Goa Electricity Department. Inaccessible meters pose serious challenges, including billing delays and inaccurate readings, often leading to disputes and estimated bills. To resolve the issue, the department has now issued a six-month deadline, directing homeowners to shift their meters to accessible locations by 28th November. Notices have also been sent to respective Panchayats and MLAs, listing homes where meter relocation is required.
