Digital Goa, Jan 22 – Former Chairman of a Multistate Co-operative Credit Society has been arrested by EOC for cheating investors to the tune of Rs 1.69 crore. Shivaji Jadhav, former Chairman of M/s Hariom Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd, was arrested on January 22, 2026, in connection with allegations of cheating and criminal breach of trust. Jadhav has been remanded to 14 days of police custody. Preliminary findings indicate that between 2016 and November 2022, investors were allegedly induced to invest in recurring and fixed deposits with assurances of high returns. The deposited amounts were allegedly not repaid on maturity.
