Digital Goa, June 27 – Goa govt has finally decided to act upon the excise license fee scam that happened at Pernem Excise Station in which nearly one crore rupees were swindled by one UDC in connivance with officers. Commissioner of Excise today issued an order placing two Excise Inspectors Vibhuti Shetye and Durgesh Naik along with UDC Harish Naik under suspension pending disciplinary proceedings against them. UDC Harish Naik is the key suspect in the scam. He allegedly issued fake receipts towards Excise license renewals to swindle money in his favour. The scam is close to Rs one crore. Vibhuti was currently In-charge of Pernem Excise Station while Durgesh was In-charge of Tiswadi Excise station.
