Digital Goa, July 20 – Farmers in the state will be provided with a top up subsidy of upto Rs one lakh to purchase “Kisan Drone” for spraying Pesticides & Soil & Crop nutrients. This subsidy will be in addition to 40% of the cost limited to Rs 4 lakhs whichever is less provided by Center’s Agriculture Mechanization Scheme. “Promotion of Mechanization in Agriculture” scheme has been modified to this effect. “To popularize the use of Kisan Drone (Unmanned aircraft system) for spraying Agro-chemicals (Pesticides & Soil & Crop nutrients), a top up subsidy of 10% of the cost limited to Rs. One lakhs will be provided from State Government Scheme budget for purchase of Kisan Drone by individual farmers, Custom Hiring Centers (CHC)/Hi tech Hubs established by the Co-operative Societies of farmers, FPOs and Rural Entrepreneurs, in addition to the 40% of the cost limited to Rs. 4 lakhs whichever is less provided by Central Government under Sub Mission of Agriculture Mechanization Scheme guidelines.
