Digital Goa, Apr 20 – North Goa police have arrested the father and brother of 24-year-old Shravan Barve for allegedly conspiring with a farm worker to murder Shravan. SP North Akshat Kaushal informed during a press briefing that the post-mortem report confirmed Shravan died due to compression of the neck. Shravan’s body was found near a temple close to his home in Ambedem, Nagargao, Sattari on April 15. Police investigations revealed that the murder was allegedly planned on April 13, and carried out with the assistance of Vasudev Ozrekar, a casual worker on the Barve family farm. Vasudev, who was also arrested yesterday, reportedly confessed and revealed the involvement of Devidas and Uday in the crime. While Devidas and Uday lived in Honda, Shravan stayed alone at the Ambedem house. Police also revealed that over the last few years, five complaints had been filed by Devidas against Shravan, accusing him of assault. Shravan was even arrested in one of these cases. A property dispute is being seen as a possible motive, and police said more arrests in the case are likely. Police had earlier rounded up around 15 local youth for investigation. They were later released.
