FDA asks food kiosks outside GMC without requisite permissions to stop cooking activities

Digital Goa, Feb 17 – FDA inspected the food stalls outside GMC and directed those without requisite permissions to carry out cooking activities to stop all cooking activities. They were also directed to vacate the temporary kitchens and equipment were removed in presence of the FDA team. Legal notices has also been issued under sec 31 of FSSA 2006. The kiosks had valid FSSAI registration certificates but no permission to carry out cooking activities, informed FDA. Vendors have refuted allegations that they use the recycled waste water from Super Specialty block for cooking. FDA said their inquiry with the guards have also corroborated the vendors claims. However, the FDA team also took samples of water from the kiosks for testing.
