Digital Goa, June 18- Finally putting an end to the speculations of the past several days, controversial minister Govind Gaude has been shown the door by the Pramod Sawant-led government. CM Pramod Sawant today removed Gaude from his cabinet. Gaude had drawn the ire of the CM after he criticised the functioning of the Tribal Welfare Department, which is directly handled by Sawant himself. He was also at the centre of controversy over the mishandling of Goa’s premier cultural institution, the Kala Academy. Artists across the state had been demanding his dismissal, citing the pathetic condition of the institution despite crores being spent on its renovation over the past few years. It remains to be seen who will fill the cabinet berth vacated by Gaude. However, there is speculation that one of the two ST leaders—Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar or Ganesh Gaonkar—may be elevated to the post of cabinet minister.
