Aug 30 – Maina Curtorim police have registered FIR in the Davorlim Advocate suicide case. Police will investigate into the allegations against lady PSI and constables mentioned in the suicide note of Advocate Jayant Prabhu, informed Dy SP Santosh Dessai. “Case has been registered in the matter. We will check if harassment has really occurred,” said Dessai. Giving the background of the case, Dessai said that police had registered offence against one person on Aug 24 following complaint by a lady that her colleague was harassing her by sending her messages and following her. The lady PSI and 4 police constables had gone to the house of the accused during the course of investigation. The next day, Advocate Prabhu, father of the accused committed suicide and named the police personnel who visited their house in the suicide note alleging that they were extremely rude to him.
