Digital Goa, Apr 11 – A fire broke out at a supermarket located behind Alankar Theatre in Mapusa, causing extensive damage to goods inside the store. Preliminary investigation suggests a short circuit may have triggered the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported however loss is estimated in lakhs. Groceries, cosmetics, soft drinks, stationery, computers, the air-conditioning system, the shop’s interior and counters were destroyed in the fire. A two-wheeler parked outside the shop was also affected by the blaze. Goods worth over Rs 50 lakh had been stocked for sale, most of which have been reduced to ashes as per the owner.
