Feb 17 – A fire broke out in the generator room allegedly of a resort near Ajoba Devasthan at Ashwem, Mandrem, around 9:30 am today, allegedly due to a short circuit. Two generators and a transformer were completely destroyed in the blaze. Fire & Emergency Services (FES) managed to bring the fire under control. The estimated loss from the incident is over Rs 25 lakh. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
