Digital Goa, Dec 16 – The fishing canoe from Talpona that was reported missing was later found stranded at Ankola in Karnataka allegedly due to a diesel shortage. Communication was delayed as the vessel’s transponder had been left at home, informed authorities. They had been missing since yesterday morning, following which their families lodged missing complaints. The incident triggered protests in Canacona, where locals blocked the Canacona–Karwar highway for over an hour, demanding swift action by the government.
