Digital Goa, July 28 – Five persons were apprehended by Goa police for possession, storage and dissemination of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) across the state under ‘Operation Suraksha’. Raids were carried by joint teams of Cyber Crime, Crime Branch & both district police. The accused have been identified as Salman Khan (Chimbel), Mahender Singh (Betim), Lemon Islam(Calangute), Pranit Volvoikar (Davorlim), Nitin Redkar (Calangute). “The distribution, possession or creation of CSAM is a serious criminal offence with severe legal consequences, and its existence perpetuates the exploitation and trauma suffered by innocent children. All citizens are urged to refrain from viewing any such content and report ASAP,” stated an advisory by Goa police in this regards.
