Digital Goa, June 28 – Calangute Police have arrested five members of an interstate gang from Maharashtra in connection with the theft of 16 gold finger rings from a jewellery shop at Candolim on June 26. The arrested accused have been identified as Pandurang Pawar, Mangesh Surve (35), Satish Shinde (41) and Joshna Pawar all from Mahad and Vimal Jadhav (61) from Satara, Maharashtra. The group is involved in similar cases in other states in the country. They entered the shop on the pretext of buying silver anklets. While the shopkeeper was kept busy by men, the woman from the group managed to steal a rack containing 16 gold finger rings. After the robbery, they fled to Maharashtra. All were arrested from a hotel at Lonere, Raigad. Police have recovered 15 of the 16 stolen gold rings.
