Digital Goa, August 19 – Civil Supplies & Legal Metrology officials, along with police, busted an illegal LPG storage unit between Saligao and Parra yesterday evening and arrested five persons from Rajasthan. A total of 164 gas cylinders were seized during the raid, informed Civil Supplies Minister Ravi Naik. Naik said the accused were illegally transferring LPG from cylinders into other cylinders and selling underweight cylinders to unsuspecting customers. He warned of strict action against those involved in such illegal LPG trade. This is the third such raid by the dept, following earlier actions in Margao and Sancoale, he added. An advisory has also been issued by the department regarding such malpractices, Ravi informed.
