Digital Goa, Oct 8 – Five youth from Benaulim were allegedly assaulted by a group yesterday night with rods, knuckle dusters etc at Kharebandh, Margao. One of the youth, Aloysius Barreto has been grievously injured and admitted at Apollo Hospital while 4 others have also sustained injuries in the assault. Complaint has been filed with Colva police in this regards. As per the injured youth, they were assaulted for intervening while a person was being assaulted. The assaulters followed them and attacked their vehicle at Kharebandh they added. One of the main accused, Samuel Mascarenhas has been arrested at Mopa Airport today while he was trying to board a flight to UK. Four more accused have been booked by police.
