Digital Goa, Nov 27 – Goa Police have arrested six persons from Maharashtra and Odisha in connection with the violent dacoity at a seventh-floor flat in Chamundi Arcade, Baina, Vasco on Nov 18, informed DGP Alok Kumar. The search for the seventh accused is underway. One of the accused who had earlier worked at the Nayak family’s shop played a crucial role in planning the crime using insider information. He had left his job around nine months ago. The family has estimated the loss of valuables including gold, silver and cash at around ₹35 lakh. Police said they have recovered the stolen items. All arrested accused have been brought to Goa, while efforts continue to trace the remaining gang member, informed police.
Meanwhile, police informed that 33-year-old Lokesh Sutar who was arrested in the Ubo Dando, St Cruz ₹25 lakh robbery case had purchased a car from the proceeds of the crime. He was arrested from Maharashtra and found to be involved in over 25 cases in Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Panaji police have also arrested a local identified as 27-year-old Babu Bhagat for his alleged involvement in stealing bikes in and around Panaji. Six bikes have been recovered from him, informed SP North.
