Digital Goa, Feb 13 – Four persons have been arrested by Mapusa police for opening an account in Mapusa bank in the name of a person from Bicholim by faking his Aadhar Card and Pan card and using the account to carry out lakhs worth financial transactions. The accused have been identified as Gautam Korgaonkar (age 38 years) from Anjuna, Razak Belwadi ( age 26 years) from Porvorim, Devanand Kavlekar (age 43 yeasr) from Pilerne and Rahul Padloskar(age 38 years) from Panaji. The gang had opened the bank account around 3 months bank using fake documents in the name of a person from Bicholim. As the transactions crossed a certain threshold, the bank wrote to the address of the account holder at Bicholim. As he did not have any bank account in Mapusa he ignored the letter first. But he contacted the bank after receiving their second letter only to realise that an account has been made in his name without his knowledge. Following this he filed a police complaint and the four accused were held.
