Gadkari assures Porvorim elevated corridor work to start in Jan; new parallel road for Goa-Chorla-Belgaum; No tolls on Goa internal roads

    Digital Goa, Dec 23 – Following are the highlights of the review meeting chaired by Union Minister of Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari which discussed the status of major infrastructure projects underway in the state.
    ▪️ Mopa Link Road (NH-166S) connecting Mopa airport to National Highway at Dhargalim will be completed by April 2024. This bridge will have a pillar that will have maximum height in the country.
    ▪️ 6 Lane Elevated Corridor in Porvorim – The actual work on this crucial elevated corridor will commence by end of Jan 2024.
    ▪️ Margao Western Bypass has been given Administrative Approval.
    ▪️ Port Connectivity – Highway connecting Mormugao Port Authority will be completed by April 2024.
    ▪️ New Borim Bridge is under purview of National Highway and a tentative approval has been granted.
    ▪️ Ring Road to Curb Highway Congestion (Mumbai – Kanyakumari & Goa – Hyderabad): Consultant Appointed.
    ▪️ Sankhali to Khanapur, Belagavi via Chorla – Parallel Road to be constructed following Environment Protocols
    ▪️ Anmod – Sugar Factory – Khandepar Highway construction will commence soon.
    ▪️ No Toll for Internal Roads in Goa – Central Government has approved proposal to make all internal roads in Goa toll free.
