Aug 16 – Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has gone on strike from one pm today afternoon to show their solidarity with nationwide doctors organisations demanding justice to the 31-year-old resident doctor who was raped and murdered in Kolkata hospital. “GARD has informed me. Plan B is ready and I have discussed with HOD’s of various departments. We will see to it that no patient suffers. All emergencies will be handled. Routine operations which can wait for 2-3 days will be postponed,” informed GMC Hospital Dean Shivanand Bandekar. IMA Goa has extended support to the 24 hour nationwide strike of doctors which will commence at 6 am tomorrow and go one till day after i.e. Aug 18. A silent march is also scheduled to be held in Panaji tomorrow. The march will start from Azad Maidan at 9 am .
