Digital Goa, May 17 – Directorate of Technical Education(DTE) Goa declared the results of the Goa Common Entrance Test(GCET) 2023 today. GCET is qualifying exam for engineering and pharmacy colleges in Goa. Total 3,224 candidates registered for Chemistry and Physics while 2,476 registered for Math. The exams were held on May 13 & 14. For Physics 3089 students appeared and the average marks obtained were 22.68, for Chemistry total 3088 students appeared and the avg marks obtained were 27.97. For Maths, of the 2476 students, 2373 appeared and the avg marks obtained were 27.77. Subject wise toppers for GCET 2023 are as follows – Physics- Adip Cuncolienkar, Chemistry – Atharv Naik, Maths – Hemashi Dessai. The admission process for professional courses will commence from May 19. Students were having difficulty accessing the results on the Directorate of Technical education website. Engineering admissions in Goa will be held on the basis of JEE from next year onwards. DTE has announced scrapping of GCET from next academic year. The directorate had started the exam from 2005.
