Digital Goa, Aug 13 – Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) has been designated as the nodal agency responsible for all tourism-related activities within the demarcated forest areas by the State Forest Department, after discussion with the Government of India, informed Forest Minister Vishwajeet Rane today. GFDC will manage activities including waterfall circuits, trails, and treks. A detailed presentation will be given to the Director General of Forest and the Union Minister for Forest, Bhupender Yadav, outlining our plans for the future, he added. In a recent meeting chaired by the Forest Minister, it was stated that GFDC will be the sole authorized agency for operating in the forest areas, an MoU will be signed by the Forest Department with GFDC to oversee and manage all activities in the forest regions, Rane further informed.
