Goa Congress protest march to Chief Electoral Office stopped; leaders detained

Digital Goa, August 12 – A protest march by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) to the Chief Electoral Office at Altinho was intercepted by police near Azad Maidan. Several party leaders were also detained by police. The agitation was held in solidarity with detaining of senior Congress leaders in New Delhi while they were protesting against alleged electoral malpractices. GPCC leaders further accused authorities of bias in the ongoing electoral roll revision in the state too.
