Digital Goa,May 28-All panchayats in Goa have been directed to simplify the procedure for granting partition or bifurcation of house numbers to families, without requiring partition of the plot or complicated formalities. The new process will be implemented from Monday and will be free of cost, informed CM Pramod Sawant. A government circular issued through the Directorate of Panchayat mandates all panchayats to process bifurcation requests within 15 days. This applies to all types of land, including Communidade land, and to every resident holding a house number. Families will receive separate house numbers with suffixes like A, B, and C, enabling issuance of separate water and electricity connections through different NOCs issued by the secretary.The initiative aims to enhance ease of living, reduce family disputes over land, and streamline administrative procedures, said Sawant. Family members must give consent and submit minimal documents for the bifurcation process. Separate house tax and garbage tax will be levied for the newly bifurcated house numbers.Sawant also revealed plans to extend the ease of bifurcation and issuance of repair licenses from the panchayat level to municipalities in the near future.
