Aug 5 – Goa Legislative Assembly passed today Goa Erection of Shacks on Public Beaches (Regulation and Control) Bill, 2024. The bill aims to regulate and control erection of shacks within the CRZ rules by simplifying the approval process. Now, Construction of shacks would not require permissions from the town and country planning (TCP) department and the panchayats. As per the bill any other state law that is in force or a court order would not hinder the erection of shacks and it does not require any construction licence or a technical clearance if they have been permitted by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA).
