Digital Goa, September 15, 2025 – The Tourism Department has decided to renew the permissions of 23 shacks that were found to be sublet. Subletting is not permitted under existing regulations, and the government had initiated cancellation proceedings against the concerned shacks. However, following requests from the Shack Owners’ Association and local MLAs, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the 23 Goan shack owners would be given one more chance to renew their permissions by paying due fees and completing related procedures.
