Goa government announces ₹40,000 per hectare compensation for rain-hit farmers

Digital Goa, October 29 – The Goa government has announced a compensation of ₹40,000 per hectare for crop losses caused by incessant rains over the past few days. “The compensation will be provided under the State Scheme – Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi. ₹40,000 per hectare will be given, up to a maximum of ₹1.6 lakh for four hectares. The compensation will be disbursed by December 2025,” Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced. Farmers across the state have suffered heavy losses as they were unable to harvest their crops due to continuous rainfall.
