Digital Goa, Jan 22 – Goa government has notified 11 bills that were passed by the Goa Legislative Assembly during its 12th Session held in January 2026.
- The GIM University Bill, 2026: To establish Goa Institute of Management (GIM) as a private university in Goa.
- The Goa Mundkars (Protection from Eviction) (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Restricts landlords (bhatkars) from transferring property containing a “mundkar’s” (protected tenant) dwelling house to anyone else without the tenant’s explicit consent.
- The Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Aimed at streamlining land-related processes and clarifying land administration in the state.
- The Goa Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Introduced updates to the local governance framework.
- The Goa School Education (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Targeted reforms in the state’s educational sector.
- The Goa Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Changes to the indirect taxation framework to reduce the compliance burden for small businesses.
- The Goa (Mopa Airport Development Authority) (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Addressed development and regulatory oversight for the Mopa airport area.
- The Goa Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion and Facilitation) (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Updated laws regarding the promotion and facilitation of agricultural marketing.
- The Goa Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Enhanced penalties for illegal constructions and public nuisances in municipal areas.
- The City of Panaji Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Provided specific amendments for the capital city’s municipal governance.
- The Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) (Amendment) Bill, 2026: Introduced updated controls for garbage management.
