Goa Government Revises Electricity Duty Rates; New Tariffs Effective from October 1

Digital Goa, Dec 4 – Govt of Goa has issued a notification revising electricity duty rates across all consumer categories, with the changes coming into effect retrospectively from October 1, 2025. The new structure covers low-tension (LT), high-tension (HT), and extra high-tension (EHT) supply categories, with duties ranging from zero to 70 paise per unit depending on usage type. Some of the other duty rates are as follows- Standard residential consumers under LTDS-II and consumers using domestic premises partially for commercial purposes under LTDS-III will be charged 20 paise per unit. For Non-Domestic Service categories, which include hospitality establishments, commercial complexes, restaurants, resorts, and other business entities, the duty has been fixed at 70 paise per unit. However, places of worship such as churches, temples, mosques, gurudwaras, shrines, and seminaries falling under NDS-V will be charged a lower duty of 20 paise per unit. The notification also adds that agricultural consumers will pay 20 paise per unit for various categories.
