Digital Goa, August 8 – CM Pramod Sawant informed the Goa Legislative Assembly today that the government will explore whether the sound restrictions beyond 10pm can be relaxed for tourism-related events and businesses, local weddings, and other functions, while staying within the legal framework and without violating the Supreme Court verdict. Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira also stated that the government is seriously considering filing a review petition before the apex Court to revisit the sound restriction issue for a tourism state like Goa. Cases filed by environmentalist is such cases is the main problem, CM alleged. “For events inside closed premises where no one outside is getting disturbed, no one will stop the music,” he said in response to complaints from MLAs about police intervention during private functions.
