Digital Goa, Sept 22 – The Office of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes has coordinated with trade associations and other stakeholders in Goa to ensure that the benefits of the newly introduced GST reforms are passed on to consumers, states a GST-Trade Circular issued by Commissioner of State Taxes S S Gill. The circular said, the department has asked trade and industry to take proactive steps to ensure that GST rate reductions and savings are reflected in prices charged to consumers, buyers and recipients. Officers posted in all eight ward offices across Goa have been instructed to extend full cooperation to taxpayers during the transition. In addition, department officials have been asked to visit retail outlets and ensure that GST savings are passed on to consumers in compliance with the new GST rates applicable from Sept 22, 2025. Any non-compliance with the Act and Rules will invite prompt legal action, Gill warned. He added that any difficulty in implementing the reforms may be reported directly to his office. The new GST reforms came into effect nationwide on Sept 22. Relevant notifications have been issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and are available on its official website.
