Goa govt imposes complete ban on tourists visiting Doodhsagar falls via Rail track route

    Digital Goa, July 22 – Goa govt has issued an order imposing a complete ban on the entry of tourists, trekkers and all other persons to the Dudhsagar waterfall citing incidents of drowning and tourists going missing in the vicinity of the cascades. The ban is imposed on entry near the railway bridge and Dudhsagar railway station, either by trekking, by train or by walking along the track. Only authorised personnel of Police, Railways, Forest department and other Government officials on duty are permitted to enter the area. However, visitors will be allowed to enter the base of the Dudhsagar waterfall area through the prescribed routes only with permit or tickets purchased from designated entry points by Forest Department. Joint Check Posts will be set up at four Railway stations in the vicinity i.e. Collem, Castle Rock, Sonaulim and Caranzole comprising of police personnel, RPF personnel and forest officials ,round the clock to restrict entry of any unauthorised persons towards waterfall area.
