Digital Goa, Mar 6 – Goa govt has notified authorisation of the use of various electronic devices for recording audio-video proceedings during police investigations in accordance with provisions made in the three new laws -Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Act. This includes mobile phones with SIM cards issued by Goa Police, body-worn cameras, digital cameras, tablets, drones, audio recorders, webcams, and CCTV footage stored in NVR/DVR/cloud. Additionally, electronic data retrieved from other states and any other authorized devices approved by the competent authority will also be considered valid evidence. Six places have been identified for examination of a witness by audio-video electronic means as per the notification. Govt today notified several provisions in view of implementation of the 3 new laws in the state.
