Aug 27- Goa govt is very much positive about implementing the Unified Pension Scheme(UPS) to the state govt employees, said CM Pramod Sawant today. “We are very much positive. Finance Dept is presently studying the scheme,” he informed. Union Govt had unveiled the new ‘Unified Pension Scheme’ (UPS) on Aug 24 for Central govt employees. The scheme assures government employees half their last drawn salary as a lifelong monthly benefit. The scheme has several other features benefiting pensioners, such as a periodic dearness relief hike in line with inflation and minimum pension of Rs10,000 a month for pensioners with at least 10 years of government service, to name a few. Center has announced the scheme for its employees and given the states liberty to adopt the scheme at their discretion.
