Digital Goa, August 4 – State government will soon introduce a policy framework to regulate gig workers, especially those working with delivery platforms, CM Pramod Sawant assured the House. He conceded with legislators that rise in gig workers is leading to rising law and order, health, and transport-related issues. Sawant said the matter involves multiple departments including Labour, Transport, Home, FDA etc. and a system will be put in place by taking all of them across the board. Registration and police verification of gig workers will be mandatory, he said. The move follows concerns raised by MLAs over the lack of regulation in the sector.
