Digital Goa, Aug 2 – Govt to enact law restricting cooperative credit societies from levying rate of interest to maximum 13 percent and penalty to maximum 2 percent. Speaking in assembly, Co-operation Minister Subhash Shirodkar said that bill to this effect has already been placed in the assembly. This was necessary because some cooperative credit societies charge higher rates of interest varying from 14% to 17 % or even more.
