Digital Goa, Nov 19- With steady rise in diabetes cases, Goa is slowly heading towards becoming diabetic capital of the country, said CM Pramod Sawant. In every diabetic camp held in Goa in the recent times at least 15 to 16 new diabetic cases are found per 100 persons tested, informed CM. He added that as per a recent report nearly 65% of those above 40 are diabetic with nearly one patient per house. “In addition to being tourism capital, we are heading towards becoming diabetic capital of the country,” said Sawant. Expressing concern over the ‘dangerous trend’, Sawant called for lifestyle change to keep a check on such diseases. He was speaking at a function in hospital at Dona Paula today.
