Digital Goa, June 5 – Central Government has notified the Computer Forensic Division of the Goa Forensic Science Laboratory, under the Goa Police Department, as an Examiner of Electronic Evidence under Section 79A of the IT Act. This recognition empowers the Verna-based laboratory to officially examine and certify electronic evidence for use in legal proceedings across India. The scope of this designation includes computer (media) forensics( excluding floppy disk drives) and mobile device forensics.
