Feb 18- Goa Police has launched four initiatives today including revamped dedicated Cyber Helpline (1930), Cyber-Yoddha Programme, AI-ML Lab, and Quick Pass Mobile App. These initiatives aim to improve cybersecurity, AI-driven policing, and traffic compliance.The Cyber-Yoddha Programme will train community volunteers to raise cyber awareness, while the AI-ML Lab will develop AI tools for crime prediction and cybercrime prevention. The Quick Pass App allows drivers to generate QR codes for easy traffic compliance.
▪️ Quick Pass App to Streamline Traffic Compliance
Goa Police have introduced the Quick Pass Mobile Application, allowing drivers to generate a QR code as proof of compliance, eliminating the need for repeated document checks at traffic checkpoints. The QR code remains valid for 12 hours unless a violation is detected. The app simplifies verification for officers and provides real-time traffic data analysis, including geotagging and violation hotspot mapping. This is the first app of its kind developed by a state in India.
▪️ 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline revamped for improved response
Goa Police has revamped the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline to enhance its response to cyber fraud and online crime. The helpline has been moved from SPCR Panaji to the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ribandar for better accountability and coordination. With 24×7 service, two dedicated phone lines are operational, and a team of nine personnel ensures swift logging of complaints into the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) for requisite action by law enforcement and financial institutions, informed police.
