Goa saw record number of tourist arrivals this year asserts CM

Dec 31- Countering claims by national media and viral social media posts about a decline in tourist arrivals, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today stated Goa witnessed record number of tourist arrivals this year. Pointing out that the overall revenue growth, combining both GST and VAT from April to December 2024 stands at an impressive πŸ–.πŸ”πŸŽ%, Sawant said that these figures highlight Goa’s continuous economic growth and fiscal health, making December 2024 a significant milestone for the state. β€œThe backbone of Goa’s economy, the tourism sector, has also played a significant role in driving this growth, with a record number of tourist arrivals,” he asserted.
Incidentally, several posts have been surfacing on social media since yesterday claiming that Goa’s streets which were usually full of people this time of the year around are wearing a comparatively deserted look this year.
