Panaji, Aug 14 — The 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival 2025 commenced with grandeur at Inox, Panaji. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event in the presence of Smt. Delilah M Lobo, MLA and Vice Chairperson of ESG; Shri Damu Naik, film personality and former ESG Vice Chairman; Shri Rohit Monserrate, CCP Mayor; Shri Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Information & Publicity; Shri Ashwin Chandru, IAS, CEO of ESG; Shri Dipak Bandekar, Director, Dept. of Information & Publicity; and other dignitaries.
The ceremony featured special guest Mohammad Ali, veteran actor, comedian, and TV presenter with over 1,200 films to his credit. Entertainment included performances by singer Jolly Mukherjee, Goa’s Mukesh Ghatwal, and comedians Sagar Karande and Ankur Wadhave of Chala Hawa Yeu Dya fame.
Chief Minister Sawant announced winners of the 48-Hour Short Film Competition:
- Best Film (1st Prize): Ful ani Savli (Flower and Shade)
- Best Film (2nd Prize): Before Sunrise
- Best Director: Glen Cardozo (Ful ani Savli)
- Best Cinematographer: Tejas V. Naik (Ful ani Savli)
- Best Editor: Yuri B. Carvalho (Ful ani Savli)
- Best Actor (Male): Niraj Arrie (Lift)
- Best Actor (Female): Rati Bhatikar (Ful ani Savli)
Awards will be presented at the closing ceremony on August 17, followed by screenings of winning films at Maquinez Palace.
The four-day festival will screen 19 feature and 4 non-feature films, with food and handicraft stalls open at the INOX courtyard until August 17. Registration details are available at www.esg.co.in.
