Goa State Film Festival 2025 concludes with awards and cultural performances

Panaji, Aug 17 – The closing ceremony of the 10th, 11th and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival 2025 was held at Kala Academy on August 17 in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, MLA and ESG Vice Chairperson Delilah M Lobo, film personality and former ESG Vice Chairman Damu Naik, ESG CEO Ashwin Chandru, IAS, Director of Information and Publicity Dipak Bandekar, and other dignitaries.

Delilah Lobo welcomed the guests and audiences. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on actress, singer and social worker Varsha Usgaonkar for her contribution to Konkani, Marathi and Hindi cinema. The Recognition of Goan Film Legacy was awarded posthumously to Baba Naik for his contribution to Goan cinema. Jury members of feature and non-feature films were also felicitated.

Award winners:

  • 10th Edition (2018–2019): Best Feature Film – Juze (14 awards)
  • 11th Edition (2020–2021): Best Film – Ransaavat (7 awards); Best Non-feature Film – Kupamcho Daryeo (5 awards)
  • 12th Edition (2022–2023): Best Feature Film – Mog (8 awards); Best Non-feature Film – Gathan (3 awards)

48-hour Short Film Competition winners:
Best Film – Ful ani Savli (First Prize), Before Sunrise (Second Prize);
Best Director – Glen Cardozo (Ful ani Savli);
Best Cinematographer – Tejas V. Naik (Ful ani Savli);
Best Editor – Yuri B. Carvalho (Ful ani Savli);
Best Actor (Male) – Niraj Arrie (Lift);
Best Actor (Female) – Rati Bhatikar (Ful ani Savli).

Awards were presented by Dr Pramod Sawant, Delilah M Lobo, Ashwin Chandru, IAS, Dipak Bandekar, Jury Chairman (Feature Film) Gajendra Ahire, and Jury Chairman (Non-Feature Film) Asim Sinha.

The evening featured cultural performances by singers Sonia Sirsat and Ajit Parab, an act by Chala Hawa Yeu Dyafame Bharat & More, and a performance by Vardhan and group. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dipak Bandekar.

The Goa State Film Festival 2025 received an overwhelming response from stakeholders of the Goan film industry.
