Feb 4- The Goa State Palliative Care Policy was launched at GMC today. It marks a significant step in strengthening cancer care across the state, said Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Organised by the Non-Communicable Disease Cell in collaboration with the Department of Medical Oncology, the initiative involves early screening, timely treatment, and a structured palliative care system for patients. With palliative care now integrated into our healthcare framework, cancer patients will receive the support they need at every stage, said Rane. The National Emergency Skill Lab having state-of-the-art simulation technology for training health professionals was also inaugurated at GMC today.
Meanwhile, CM Sawant also informed today that two Day Care Cancer Centres will be established in Goa, one in each district as proposed in the Budget 2025-26
