Goa has delivered an impressive performance in student robotics and innovation at the Codeavour 7 India Nationals held at GITAM Deemed to be University on April 11 and 12, 2026, with multiple teams securing top positions and qualifying for the international competition in Jakarta.
A total of 10 teams from Goa participated in the nationals after qualifying at the Goa Regionals held on March 22 at Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa. Three additional teams had also qualified but were unable to travel for the national event.
Of the participating teams, three competed in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship track, while seven took part in the Robo Soccer/Football track, showcasing strong technical skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
In Track 1, a team from Union High School, Chimbel, comprising Upasana Kumari (Std VIII) and Kavita Rathod (Std IX), won a consolation award, earning qualification for the international stage.
In Track 3, Team PRATHAM Botz from Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa, consisting of Vedang Anay Kamat and Surabhi Shubhesh Manerikar (Std VI), secured third place. Team NYANO NINJA from Sarvodaya Educational Society’s High School, Curchorem, represented by Ashwin Atul Shirodkar and Aryan Atul Shirodkar, finished fourth. Team GOAN YODDHA from PES New English High School, Digas-Panchwadi, comprising Akshavi Ashok Gaonkar, Arushi Arun Sawant, and Shanveek Mukesh Gaunkar, also qualified for the internationals.
All four teams have now secured their place to represent India at the Codeavour 7 Internationals scheduled in Jakarta, Indonesia, in May 2026.
The teams from NYANO NINJA and GOAN YODDHA received mentorship in robot construction, driving, control skills, and PCB soldering from Dhruv Sameer Salgaonkar, a Class IX student of Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa, and a member of FTC Team TechInfinity #25005.
The Goa contingent included participants from several institutions such as Union High School Chimbel, Saraswat Vidyalaya Mapusa, PES New English High School Digas-Panchwadi, Shree Mahalasa Narayani High School Verna, Sarvodaya Educational Society’s High School Curchorem, and KLE International School Belagavi.
The achievements underline the growing prominence of robotics as a competitive sport, requiring consistent practice, teamwork, and resilience. Despite limited access to large coaching institutions, Goan students continue to excel through grassroots efforts supported by schools, mentors, and parents.
The qualifying teams are now preparing for the international stage, focusing on travel arrangements, documentation, and fundraising efforts to support their participation.
Codeavour is an international AI, coding, and robotics competition that encourages students to solve real-world problems through innovation while fostering collaboration and global exposure.
