Goa to host International Environment & Sustainability Summit from Feb 8 to 10

    Digital Goa, Feb 1 – Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) will host the 2nd International Environment & Sustainability Summit, Goa, from February 8 to 10, 2024. “The aim is to jointly make Goa a better place to live in and come up with concrete solutions,” said Minister Aleixo Sequeira while briefing the media about the conference.The event which will be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Taleigao will have sessions and exhibitions showcasing the latest tech solutions for issues such as waste management, water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management, air pollution control, waste-to-energy conversion, e-waste and industrial waste, refuse disposal and recycling, plastic waste recycling etc. Elaborating on the outcome of the summit held last year GSPCB Chairman Mahesh Patil informed that under an MoU signed with Goa govt, Godrej has undertaken Rs 3 crore waste management projects at Sakhali, Bicholim, Valpoi and 30 panchayats and 2more companies have also approached the board to do similar work. 12 to 15 staff of GSPCB have registered for PhD program involving Goa Centric research as part of another MoU he added.
