Goa’s AI-powered lung cancer screening showcased at Geneva World Health Assembly

Digital Goa, May 28 – At the 78th World Health Assembly, at Geneva Goa demonstrated its use of artificial intelligence for lung cancer care. Dr. Kedar Raikar from DHS represented Goa at the Assembly. Goa is first state is the first in India to implement AI-powered lung cancer screening across the state in collaboration with AstraZeneca and Qure.ai, informed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. The screening has been introduced in 19 public health facilities. Early-stage lung cancer is being detected through routine X-rays. The qXR AI system assists in identifying abnormalities, supporting the work of radiologists.
