Goa’s rural broadband connectivity likely to benefit from Rs 6,447 crore Polycab India led BharatNet upgrade

Digital Goa, June 18- Goa is likely to witness a boost in its digital infrastructure as Polycab India has signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to implement middle-mile network infrastructure under Package 4 of the Amended BharatNet Programme in the State. As Project Implementation Agency (PIA), Polycab will handle the design, supply, construction, upgradation, and maintenance of the network in Goa, Karnataka, and Puducherry telecom circles. The infrastructure rollout is expected to be completed within three years, followed by a 10-year maintenance period. Goa’s inclusion in this ambitious project is expected to enhance broadband connectivity in rural and underserved areas. The Rs 6,447.54 crore project includes Rs 3,741.92 crore in capital expenditure and over Rs 2,700 crore in operating expenses, according to a stock exchange filing by Polycab
