Govt approach the Center about providing relief to structures at Arambol: CM

Digital Goa, Feb 10 – Goa govt will appraoch the Center to check the possibility of giving relief to small businesses and structures within CRZ areas at Arambol which have been ordered to be sealed and demolished by the High Court. The matter is being heard by the High Court. CM also informed the house that the survey for identifying the fishermen houses is under way. “Care will be taken to ensure that unscrupulous persons who are not traditional dwellers are not finding a mention in the comprehensive plan for traditional Coastal Communities will not be figuring in the protective list and this will be placed in public domain,” he added. Sawant was replying to the calling attention by Calangute MLA Michael Lobo pointing out that several traditional dwellers, Fisherman and local inhabitants of the Goa Coastal belt of Goa have received various inspections notices, Show Cause Notices and Demolition Orders from Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority for their Residential Houses, Restaurants, Guest Houses , Shops etc. Their livelihoods are at stake, Lobo added.
