Digital Goa, July 4 – Goa govt constituted committee will scrutinize all applications for assisted reproductive treatment in the state, examine the facilities, and also provide the necessary approvals, informed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. The assisted reproductive treatment will be monitored through the Surrogacy Act. “The Surrogacy Act will stipulate who can access assisted reproductive technologies(ART) and procedures such as in vitro fertilization and surrogacy, the conditions under which gamete donation and surrogacy can take place, and also specify requirements for clinics to operate,” he informed. The committee will be presenting the checklist on July 20 and a review meeting will be held by the end of the month to evaluate the progress, Rane added. The State Surrogacy Board held its first meeting yesterday. Rane had announced two days back that by mid-August, GMC’s super-specialty block is likely to introduce a free IVF treatment facility in association with an infertility expert, Dr Kedar Padte.
