Digital Goa, Feb 10 – Goa govt is contemplating to convert non-functioning IDCs like Quitla to amusement parks, said CM Pramod Sawant today. He was speaking at the launch of the IDC connect initiative wherein govt officials are expected to work in tandem with the industries and address their grievances. Goa govt has initiated the IDC connect initiative to take Governance to the doorstep of Industries, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Sawant also spelt out proposed initiatives of the govt such as development of green corridor, disaster management drills, use of robotic and automation for management of water supply etc. He also expressed concern over significant pilferage of water supply in industrial estates.
▪️ *Unnecessary procedures to be weeded off to bring in EoDB*
Sawant said as part of the initiative, govt will try to weed out unnecessary, extra procedures to bring in Ease of Doing Business(EoDB). Citing an example, he said that 19 step process of advertising for IDC plot has been brought down to a 4 step process.
▪️ *GIDC services to be completely digitized*
Services that can be availed under Goa Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) will be completely digitized enabling Ease of Doing Business in the Industrial Sector, Sawant said. Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has also decided to create a digital land bank of all industrial estates by October 2023.
▪️ *Use your CSR to develop your IDC – CM’s advice to industries*
Sawant appealed to the industries housed in Goa to deposit their CSR funds in Goa govt’s CSR Authority. This can be used to develop their respective Industrials Estates, he said. “We are ready to give whatever certification is needed,” he added.
