Digital Goa, April 29- CM Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting with representatives of the Dhangar community to address key concerns related to their housing and Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. A representation has already been sent to the Registrar General of India (RGI) seeking notification of Gavali Dhangars as STs in Goa and the govt is following up with RGI in this regards, said Sawant. He also said that the government is serious about regularising Dhangar homes, nearly 90 % of which are built on revenue land. Residents, many of whom have lived in these houses for over 60 years, have been asked to apply under encroachment provisions to initiate the regularisation process, he added.
